The State of South Dakota One Stop is a 100,000-square-foot building housing seven state agencies in Rapid City, South Dakota.
The State of South Dakota One Stop in Rapid City is a 100,000-square-foot building with seven state agencies, previously located in various places across Rapid City. The project’s goals included providing more convenience to the public and creating a space to boost state employee recruitment, retention, and morale.
The building broke ground in March 2021 and was completed in August 2022.

The facility’s location on Mall Drive behind Lowe’s was chosen because of its easy access to I-90 and its proximity to the existing bus route.
The One-Stop is H-shaped to maximize natural light throughout the building. Dream Design and its partners took a less conventional approach by putting offices along interior walls and maximizing window space in the collaborative workspaces where cubicles are located. It also includes specially tailored features based on input from state agency leaders. The One-Stop has large exam rooms for the Department of Health, a garage and laundry facilities for Child Protective Services, sizable public meeting rooms for any department’s use, a hoteling station for the Department of Revenue, and a patio where state employees can gather.
