Dream Design Forging Into The Future

It all began 24 years ago when Hani Shafai, a new father of twins, left his job as city engineer to start an engineering firm in his home. Fast forward to today, Dream Design serves as a parent brand to multiple companies which employ a total of around 70 individuals and offer services in not only engineering, but land planning, real estate development, construction, and property management. Since our inception, we have been responsible for creating 2 million+ acres of commercial real estate, 6,000+ residential units, and over $1.3 billion in added taxable value.

Hani and the team have no intention to slow down any time soon. As we head into the next quarter of a century, the values that have driven Dream Design since 1998 remain the same:

Our dream continues to be to make Rapid City, the Black Hills, South Dakota, and communities around the world exceptional places to call home. We value our communities as they are, and also envision how much greater they could be. We work with business leaders, elected officials, non-profits, and people of the community to not only identify problems and dream up possibilities, but to literally build solutions that change horizons. Our number one priority is to grow our cities so that our children and their children have promising futures.

In other words, we exist to develop communities in order to change lives.
